Alabama will reinstate primary care payments to doctors after BP oil spill settlement funds were allocated to shore up Medicaid's budget.
Governor Robert Bentley on Thursday said the payments for primary care doctors with Medicaid patients will be restored by Oct. 1.
The agency this summer reduced the primary payments to pre-2013 levels after the legislature’s 2017 budget underfunded Medicaid’s $785 million request. Medicaid estimated the cuts would save around $14.7 million.
