“We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard,” Kennedy said at Rice Stadium, Sept. 12, 1962.
That sentiment was echoed once again, this time by Vice President Joe Biden during a Sept. 16 speech at Rice University. It was not geared toward space travel, however, but to curing cancer.
