Jonathan Dunning, the former CEO of Birmingham Health Care, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in a $13.5 million fraud case.
Prosecutors had previously recommended a 27-year sentence for Dunning, who plans to appeal the sentence, according to AL.com.
