Brian Kennedy, president and CEO of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging since 2010, stepped down Thursday and was replaced by the former CEO of Sangamo BioSciences Inc., Edward Lanphier.
The reason for the departure of Kennedy, whose own research had spawned a spinout Novato company, Mount Tam Biotechnologies, wasn't disclosed. A message for Kennedy wasn't immediately returned.
