Citing an ongoing substance abuse problem, a second area hospital is asking the state to allow temporary drug addiction treatment beds to remain permanent.
UPMC Chautauqua at WCA, a 317-bed hospital in Jamestown, has applied to the state Department of Health to add two chemical dependence rehabilitation beds to its permanent operating certificate. The beds have been certified on a temporary basis since last year.
