Cardinal Health Inc. will pay $20 million to settle a 2012 lawsuit brought by West Virginia's attorney general over accusations it did not control the supply of opiates that fed deadly drug abuse in the state.
The state has agreed to drop all legal actions against the Dublin health-care distributor. A separate lawsuit remains pending by commissioners of McDowell County, which has the state's highest rate of death from prescription drug abuse.
