Traffic application Waze this week extended its carpool program to all nine counties in the Bay Area, partnering with UCSF and Kaiser to transport their tens of thousands of workers.
Google acquired the Israeli company Waze in 2013, and the application has become popular for commuters and drivers for navigating and reporting road conditions. Waze reports it has about 900,000 Bay Area users on the app, and the goal is to get people driving alone to add passengers to the trip.
