Most of the Washington region's biggest publicly traded biotech companies saw their stock prices dip Thursday following the release of President Donald Trump's proposed budget calling for research funding cuts.
The budget proposal slashes funding for the Health and Human Services Department, which oversees the National Institutes of Health and Food and Drug Administration, by $15.1 billion, or 17.9 percent. That includes a $5.8 billion reduction specifically to the NIH budget.
