Guilty plea made in connection with hacked UPMC data

A man who was accused of participating in the theft of personal information from thousands of UPMC employees in a 2014 hacking pled guilty Monday in a Pittsburgh court to counts of money laundering and aggravated identity theft. Yoandy Perez Llanes, 33, made his plea in the courtroom of U.S. District Judge Mark R. Hornack. Llanes faces up to 22 years in prison and/or a $750,000 fine and will be sentenced at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 18, according to a news release from Acting U.S. Attorney Soo C. Song. The…
