In response to Oregon’s fiscal crunch, Gov. Kate Brown today announced a statewide hiring freeze.
In a statement, Brown said the move was “the first in a series of executive actions” she’ll take in the coming weeks to respond to the projected $1.6 billion shortfall and improve government efficiency and operations.
