That is the highest close ever for the 30-stock Dow.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were also up as stocks jumped in private sector job gains reported by ADP (Nasdaq: ADP) today.
The S&P 500 gained 18 points closing at 2,430.06, according to Google Finance.
The Nasdaq gained 48.31 ending at 6,246.83. Those are both records.
