Tampa General Hospital named John Couris as president and CEO, taking over the top jobs that were previously held by Jim Burkhart, who resigned in November at the request of the hospital’s board of directors.
Couris currently is president and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center on the east coast of Florida, but he spent several years in the Tampa Bay area working for BayCare Health System. He joined BayCare in August 2000 as a vice president at Morton Plant Mease Health Care in Clearwater.
