Negotiations on Friday between Tufts Medical Center and its union nurses stalled after only three hours, with the sides agreeing to meet again next Tuesday to avoid a planned Wednesday strike.
The nurses said that they came to the table willing to compromise but that the hospital was sticking to its $25 million offer, which was the original $30 million deal minus some preparation costs for the strike.
