Mercer Island startup Concure Oncology has introduced a new procedure for treating early-stage breast cancer, with the first U.S. patient receiving the procedure last week at the Swedish Cancer Institute location on First Hill.
The technique involves inserting tiny radioactive pellets, or palladium “seeds,” into the area of breast tissue where a surgeon has already removed cancerous cells.
