Dr. Glen Nelson, former chairman and chief executive of Park Nicollet Medical Center and vice chairman of Medtronic Inc., died Saturday. He was 79.
Nelson was in Egypt being treated for a long-term staph infection when he died, according to the Star Tribune.
Nelson, a surgeon, was head of St. Louis Park-based Park Nicollet between 1975 and 1986. His tenure on the board of Medtronic ran from 1986 to 2003.
