Childhaven, a nonprofit serving young children who have been abused or neglected, has raised $20 million from private donors over the last five years and recently rebranded and launched a new strategic plan.
Founded in 1909, Childhaven had historically received nearly 60 percent of its funding from the Washington state government. But, as state funding declined, the organization struggled to make up the difference. That led to cuts and location closures.
