Nearly one in four Pennsylvania hospitals — and one in three in this region – lost money last year, according to a report released Thursday by the Pennsylvania HealthCare Cost Containment Council.
The PHC4 study found medical centers, as a group, experiencing a small improvement in operating margins and a drop in uncompensated care costs.
