Eight Florida men, including five men from New Port Richey, are accused of health care fraud in a case that involves compounded medications — a growing focus for government probes.
The men are charged in an Aug. 3 indictment with using A to Z Pharmacy in New Port Richey and other pharmacies in the Miami area to submit bogus reimbursement claims for prescription compounded medications to private insurance companies, Medicare and Tricare, the federal government payor for military health insurance.
