Sens. Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat, and Frank Pallone Jr., a New Jersey Democrat, contend Medicaid may have been “grossly overpaying” for the EpiPen because Mylan returned too little in rebates.
It’s the latest chapter in the ongoing firestorm surrounding the drug maker Mylan, which hiked the price of the device by more than 400 percent from 2007 to 2015. EpiPens, which run more than $600 for a two-pack, are used to treat severe allergic reactions.
